Wedding Ushering Checklist for Ghanaian Couples

Ushers are often the most overlooked part of wedding planning, until the day arrives and guests don't know where to sit. Here's what to think through before you book.

1. Know your guest count

Guest count determines team size. A wedding under 100 guests can usually run smoothly with 2–3 ushers; anything larger benefits from a dedicated team lead coordinating the group.

2. Decide what ushers should handle

3. Confirm uniform and presentation

Ushers should be easily recognizable to guests. Many Ghanaian weddings match usher sashes or scarves to the wedding's colour theme, worth requesting when you book.

4. Plan the briefing

A short briefing before guests arrive, covering seating plan, VIP guests, and timing, is what separates a smooth event from a confused one. Confirm your ushering team includes this.

5. Lock in the details early

Book ushers at least 2–3 weeks ahead, especially during December and festive wedding season when demand is high across Accra.
